CGNetworks is proud to present its 17th CG Challenge - Master and Servant!
The Master and Servant Challenge explores and exposes the motives, emotions and expressions evoked in a myriad of unequal relationships that pervade the human condition. The theme can be taken to encompass an entire spectrum from benevolent leader and adoring followers to maniacal dictator and abused slaves. Whatever you choose to depict, the image must convey the relationship; the attitude and action; and the emotions of the Master and Servant archetypes.
The relationship of Master to Servant can be of human to creature or creature to human. One to many, or many to one. It could be based on power and conquest, love, hate, lust, benevolence, exploitation, religion, belligerence, psychosis, fear, adoration, debt, tradition, dare... However, the nature of these roles is one that is particular to the human condition, and therefore requires at least one human component, whether in the dominant or the submissive position.
First and foremost, submitted images will be judged on the strength of their emotive and story elements, with technical excellence being the second criteria. The depth of feeling and the power of the relationship as portrayed by the image is the primary theme and goal of this challenge, so participating artists must demonstrate a clarity of thought and emotion in their finished images. Artists are encouraged to think beyond traditional or conventional interpretations of the theme. Flex your imaginations and show us something original.
