Client wants to get my Illustrator file as an EPS so she can drop it into quark. Will an Illustrator EPS be okay or should I save it as a Photoshop EPS?
She just wants an EPS to drop into Quark. What is the best way to do this?
Thanks!

A photoshop eps will rasterize the entire file which could increase file sizes and make minor changes a real pain. go with the illustrator eps.

Thanks! I work in IACS, but I think the client works in 10. See any problems with me saving it as a legacy AI10 EPS?
I asked her which verison of Illustrator she used, but she said it didn't matter because all she wanted as an EPS to drop into Quark...mmmmm...am I missing something here?

If she doesn't know-- I'd move it back to AI8 with all the switches on for old compatability. As for client-side minor changes-- that's an oxymoron to avoid at all costs, IMO. Converting to curves might work there.

Ooh no Broacher. You don't want to downsave to 8. Wreaks havoc with flattened transparency if it's been used. Illy CS to 10 is usually ok though.
Quark, even Quark4 will take an Illy CS eps file as a placed image. No need for Illustrator if she isn't gonna mess with the eps..
PD is a grande format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

I actually downsave to 7 or 8 out of habit since some places I deal with aren't too 'up to date.' But I tend to avoid effects like transparency anyway.
