Photoshop and quark color

I'm a little new at this graphic desgin stuff, so bear with me. I've created a background in Photoshop and inserted it as a picture in my quark layout and then put text over it. When it print from quark the colors come out different then when I print from photoshop. Why is that which is going to be more accurate once it goes to the printer, using a 4 color process?

Are you using a MAC of PC?

Sounds like you're creating RGB images in photoshop, and when you print, you're likely printing using CMYK ... conversion between RGB and CMYK can have unecpected results with your colours.
