Hey, anyone notice that the Biker dude in the Corel Advertisement at the top of this page (if it isn't there, refresh a couple times till it comes up) IS A VECTOR. Nice job on that. Holy.

Click on it (a couple times to show that we appreciate Corel's support) and go to the articles. Nifty cool.

Yawn.

Why is everyone so dazzled by these labours of 2D vector love? A good 3D app will give you better results in much less time to the rez you want anyhow! I don't get it. It's seems to be mostly a testimony to the mindless patience with a tool not optimized to the task.

Hey, check out the Xara sample stuff if you're into this. It's also much faster for this task in many ways (remeber, this is a big lifelong CorelDraw fan speaking).

Speaking of inappropriate tools, anybody wanna see my self-portrait drawn with PageMaker vector tools? www.bobroach.com/pm/smoothy.p65

Xara is PC only too.
:(
I tried playing with it some time back but IT wouldn't let me download it onto my plotting workstation...
Can't say as I blame em...spoilsports might have to do their job if I broke something (not too likely).

But we can be impressed by absolutely focused tenacity (don't know if I'd call it patience) that kind of work requires.

Ever tried filling a salt shaker up with tweezers, without removing the lid? Ever read 'The Phantom Tollbooth'? The 'Demon of Meaningless Tasks' comes to mind. That luxury is usually preserved around here for management types....
