I am a designer at a college - people all across the campus are always asking me for artwork/logos/etc. I am looking for software that could work on our server/intranet/web site where I (an only I) could scan the images, attach keywords, and put them in a library where people could view/search/download. Then, I would spend so much time each day looking through my files for the artwork, e-mailing people the artwork they need, or they would not spend the day parked in my office looking through my photo files (hard copies). Instead, they would send me the text and say 'I found image #321 on the site and want use that for the capital campaign postcard.' I envision it working like Corbis or Getty.

(I am on a MAC - the rest of the campus is PC.)

I use iview Media Pro. You can build keyworded catalogues including thumbnails of most files (tiff, psd, eps, jpeg, bmp, pdf, fonts, etc.), and share them on a cd with the free reader. Check out it out at:
