I hate designing 1col x 2" ads!

I hate em. The real estate section had 26 last week alone last week.
Hell... 10 of em were from ONE company!!

Damn 'frequenccy'! ACK! I hate that people ever taught taht to advertisers!! LOL! I could tell em 'you know you could get that 1/2 page for alot less than all these 1x2 ads' but no I can't do that because then the bossman would lose money and hey - its all about money to them isn't it. /DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/dry.gif

These little tiny ads take more time sometimes than a friggin full page. Such a pain. Whats even worse than designing them...is placing them into the actual layout. Making 100% sure you don't double up on one and leave one out on accident! Do you have all 26? All different 26 ads? Damn..i'm not sure..I better go back and count them, then check them off again to make sure I have all of them and that nothing was left out! Wouldn't want the salesperson to be missing her 20% commission off of that $15 ad *sigh*

What a pain in the bum!

ok I feel better now that I b!tched about something so small and trivial! Off to do 6 more of these ads I guess *sigh*

I do the majority of those on Tuesdays, lucky me /DesktopModules/dotNetBB/emoticons/dry.gif although I do design some of them sometimes on Monday - just no time today. Well..either no time or I just don't wanna look at those till tomorrow - haa ha!!

Thursday was always 'car ad day' - they always needed ads to run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Many times you would have two to do on Monday for run on Wednesday. Ugh.

And Friday was always 'little cut up ad day' like your little ones today.

Ahhhh the memories of newspaper design...

Ohh I have tons of car ads to do...somewhere between 20 and 30, all to be done by 5pm tomorrow.

I keep telling myself 'its not forever' only I am doing nothing pretty much to move myself forward! Not much anyways..LOL
That of course is my fault. I am much better than this place, I know this, but no need to get all into that.

it's a throw away ad. they ultimately get lost in the mix. no one cares about them and 99% of the readership doesn't even 'see' them. the other 1% that does see them are designers.

Exactly - so that is why they run so damn many! Frequency! They think it will help them get noticed but honestly..no one gives a sh!t! It doesn't work for 'South of the Borders' ugly (I mean UGLY) billboards running all up I-95 every 500 ft. and its not gonna work for your crappy real estate business either!
