hey kids!

going to be whipping up some paintings for a new baby's nursery. 26 (that's a lot, eh?) 4x8" paintings of the alphabet and how they relate to baby.

no problems there, but i start to wonder - how annoying will mom find the ambiguous white baby? i plan on having giraffes and drum kits and monsters and cranky faces, just fyi.

so, before i start painting, crit away...

you've got kids, right? so, how horrid is it to give 26 of these little things?!? mom and dad are always asking for me to paint them something for the house... they're small, but there are a lot of them.

hmmm...maybe i'll have to play around with the orientation of the canvas' and group them creatively...do something fun for 'Gg Giraffe-wrangler'...

Just remember unc...

You're polling us graphic designers, who may have a complete different outlook of that white baby... the 'average' person... (lol) ... may be discusted. So, my comments will include....

... show those samples to the mama... it can't hurt!

Just don't paint him/her in purple or some religiously zealous idiot who is intent on checking the morals of others for the greater mankind will label "it" gay and ban you. :(

I like them!

I love 'em, uncle. The colour issue can be distorted for abuse no matter what the colour. Since they look good white ... I'd keep them white.

O = Octopus, See if you can work this in somehow

A guy walks into a bar with an octopus under his arm. He sets the octopus on a stool next to him and announces: "This is an amazing octopus. I'll bet anyone in this bar $50 that this octopus can play any instrument set in front of it."

None of the people could believe this, so one guy brought up a guitar. The octopus took hold of the guitar and started picking away, better than Jimi Hendrix. The man took $50 from the guitarist. Next someone brings up a trumpet. The octopus started playing the trumpet, better than Herb Alpert. The man won another $50 from the trumpeter. Then some guy brought up some bagpipes. The octopus picked up the bagpipes for a minute and, looking a little puzzled, set them down again.

"Can't you play the bagpipes?" asked the man. "Play it?" said the octopus, "I'm gonna screw it as soon as I figure out how to get its pajamas off." :D

look forward to the finished article(s) in the next few days. i'll post photos - probably on my revamped site.

see? the reasons for me to have kids (instead of abstaining, which i have been successfully practising thus far) are mounting:

i would get to watch more cartoons. in fact, i would have to subscribe to cable in order to get nickelodeon - it's a crime not to, isn't it? some sort of modern day child abuse?

no, i would get done for child abuse by dressing my kids in little wrestling outfits. best to stay child-free for now, and just torture the cat, methinks...
