1. Not to sure about that one, don't do web.
2. In Design is pretty good, but Quark is also on the top list!
3. Illustrator!!!
4. I'm my boss!
5. THE MONEY!!! and of course the satisfaction of being sucessful, on your own!

1. depends.. jpeg seems a little better in quality but with Gif you can have a transparent background and also animate.
2. InDesign hands down, no competition.

4. Make your own hours.Plus can be VERY lucrative.

I think Iceman is the best. He has an advantage over most, in that he can re-genrate in cold weather, should he melt.

...It 100% depends on what you're trying to do with the image. For instance, if you need animation the .gif is the way to go. If you need transparency but want your image to look good, .png is the way cricket. However, if you just got a basic plain ole image go for .jpg.
...InDesign, although Quark is still the number one program of the industry, but quickly loosing ground.
