Okay so here are the new sets. The top one is going for a more simplistic typography. The second is more wild type.

The first one would work well for a corporate venture ... where as your more wild variation wouldn't look out of place for some hippy establishment, selling candles, incense, and the like. They each scream for some colour though ... I take it these are just to see how they work Grey scaled!?

Not sure what you're after exactly, but they look good, whatever your intention.

First one of the 1st and first one of the 2nd set. (If you can understand that!)

So what's it all about?

Logos are looking good, but I agree with Ulysses. Your first logo to me, shows the best strength from a professional stance.
As for the first logo of the second group, its good but it does kinda have a hippy look going, not sure if thats what your totally after...

Third of the first image appeals to me the most.

I like the one in the first set with the circle - but don't know if it is even necessary to make the "Y" stand out as much as it does.

And to answer to what this is all about, check out my current site from the link below. This is my current website, but I'm in transition to create a new one, but I wanted to create a logo that represents my art. My new site will have photography and paintings as well. You can click my blog to see some of my photos

I like the top ones. I think the flame part of your logo should be more rounded at the bottom. For some reason, the break in the curve is very distracting to me.

Wow... all of them are great like the others have stated. I personally like the 3rd one, of the second set, due to it sort of having that surfer / skater style to it but modern as well. Mad props!!

Thanks you guys again. And I am working on a more rounded bottom on the flame.

Why do you find the original set more succesful?

I personally love the one from the other thread you started...with the round font choice. I thought that one was successful and that the typography worked well within your design, including your symbol. There are some nice ones listed above but I still feel the other was more successful for your logo. Of course that is just my opinion ;)

I really like that font as well, but I'm just working on a more professional look. Thanks for the input though.

I liked the rounded font ones, too, and I think they did look really professional and clean.

I'm liking the third of the second set although I'm not sure why it's included in the "wild" set. It seems to be quite professional. I just checked out your site. Fabulous work.
