Just throwing out some ideas on updating my current logo. Now disregard the font used, most likely i'll be creating my own. These are the first drafts, so there are more concepts to come. I'd still like to utilise my symbol in some way but i'm open to a whole new concept. Things still have to be tweaked and adjusted but before i finalize anything I wanted to get some ideas going first, any feed back is greatly appreciated!

Tyger. I will be honest..

I really think that your logo works perfect by itself (the one in the avatar the dragon with tha open wings), and when Iīm saying perfect, I mean perfect 10 points, I love that logo is very agressive, balanced and look great alone, you donīt need to add nothing more, this thing like claws doesnīt help.

About the type i find somethinfg like orient or asia on it. but itsīnice if you want an orient logo.

hope this help you.

i have to say i agree with ikyut, i think that the claw thing is suppose to be a mc but only after looking at really hard trying to figure out what you were trying to do. if this isn't what you were going for look again 'cause there is a mc there to work with.

Thanx for the feed back guys!

I really like the symbol too, I just thought I'd incorporate the MC somehow (that's what the first logo is) Maybe I just have to find a way to work in the text better with my original logo.

I appreciate you guys being honest, that's what i wanted. :)

here's the original concept.

Tyga. try the text at the botton to see the entire dragon, and your logo will become powerful, but the last you post is really great and the only thing than i donīt like is the black shadow you add, however I think you used it to emphasize on the white letters, for that reason i want to see the text at the botton.

Tyga start thinking that you already have a great logo. see ya dude.

the first round reminds me of a sports team logo. Maybe WSU. http://www.wsu.edu/identity/identity-elements/logo/index.html

Something about it says, "I'm gonna kick your a$$" lol

The original logo is better, but I think you need to go easy on the gradients and shadows and photoshop tricks.

You're on the right track, work on the text and stay closer to the original.

Hey Slug, what an appropriate name for someone who keeps slithering back in here after being banned around 15 times now. Why do you keep coming back? We all think you're a totally obnoxious turd. You're always slamming others work with your irrelevant posts. Funny in all your many identities I don't ever remember seeing any of your designs. Well hot shot, lets see em. http://home.comcast.net/~rnick9/koolsmiley.gif

Thanx for the constructive criticism EC. the final won't have the gradients and shadows, it'll just be a dark red, as for the text i'm trying to see what best fits. will update soon.

Slug- In no way am I a professional, but I am going to create something simple...that's my style simple and effective.

it' s all good Kool...I don't mind being slammed, just back it up with something! I can take it and I can give it.

Tyger ... I also think your dragon-esq symbol is strong enough to focus your logo concept on. I think adding clutter around it, is doing just that. Perhaps you might want to add some subtle details to it though, if you find it isn't strong enough as a logo as is. Such as, some subtle wing detail or a flame. Perhaps a flam could somehow be used to introduce a background colour for the symbol, like your current concepts have been trying to do. It could then still work as a 2-colour design, possibly.

Edit: Drat, my browser didn't display your black/red variant logo, until I'd posted my feedback. It looks good, but I wouldn't cover the logo quite so thoughtlessly, if you can help it. I still think you should see a way to make the symbol work by itself first.

Kool no clue what your talking about. I joined this forum a while ago and kind of died off it. And recently came back because I got a new computer back at home. I havent been on here for a atleast a year.

If you think the logo is good and worth portyring yourself fine go for it. I am giving you my critique if you can take ctiisism in this field you may as well get out right now. The shadows the embossing, the multicolored type through the dragon. If you think it works go ahead and use it, just hink you would only want your best of best to portray your company. I dont see any connection to it for design. IMO

Tyger...I agree with others...your logo looks great "as-is" with nothing else around it. The shape is cool and catchy.

Maybe, if anything, what about coming up with a font that you like, and fitting the logo between the two words? ie: Monzon (logo) Creations keeping it all close to the same height...just slightly larger on the logo.

Just my .02Ē...don't know if it helps. I do agree though, your logo looks good as a stand-alone icon.

DeleteYourself
05-05-2005, 05:36 PM
^i agree with YNOT^

the dragon shape has stand-alone credibility, use it to it's fullest and don't water it down. as for the juxtoposition of the text and the image, play around. see what happens!

great job!

too bad he's banned, because this fuctard has no understanding of the word concept and ideas...did i say this was final.....nooooo? idjit! And to think of because he says so that i have to get out of this field....yeah...o.k!

Well for an amature who's logo sucks and should run away from this field I didn't do too bad in the month of Dec last year doing freelance work part-time...I think I made around $4000.00 that month.....well I guess my clients are suckers because my work sucks:p

Surely all perpsectives are welcome?

I know that a bad comment should have a solution, but he was just speaking his mind?

I feel the mark is very good and has nice styling, but I too am not 100% sure of the link to design? What it is suppossed to express to your customers?

Slug didn't say you should leave the design field, but if you can't take cri****m you should. And he is right, this game of design is all about taking feedback from others who have a different perspectives from your own, cos we all know how inlvolved we get in our own designs and different viewpoints, whether good or bad are in my opinion all good.

As long as we progress it doesn't matter how we get there, just as long as we learn.

1st rule of design, do not take comments personal...

tZ
05-18-2005, 05:57 PM
the gradients - in my opinion are really going your logo an injustice. Especially the ones on the winged creature.

Also the gradients on type are just not working and i think that is making it look somewhat "amatureish". You may want to rethink that approach and stick to standard type face and flat colors.

Other then the above i find the logo successfull. I like the design and composition... very creative.

You'r logo sucks Tyger.

It needs a swoosh and use Rage Italic or Brushscript font. Maybe throw in a starburst to attract attention. OH WAIT! No - I got this cool font called STICKS - it looks like real sticks with knots and everything. Very cool.

It needs more colour too. Use all of them. People like colour. A gradient from magenta to cyan and all the colours in between would ROCK! You know, printing colours and all. yeah ....

Oh I know! Put a big blue sky with clouds in it in the background! You know, to make it look like the dragon dude is flying! Ha ha!

Oops, my mom wants her computer back now...

"Slug" has been banned over a dozen times for causing trouble on the forum. He has received countless warnings and second chances, which he refuses to heed, and that is why he is banned as soon as he is recognized now.

My input would be to tone down the shadow on the font so that it's a bit more crisp. That will really help it to all pop a bit more. Just turn down the distance a bit... Lookin' good.!!

benjo
05-19-2005, 11:53 AM
Tyger I like the concept but would get rid of any effects like shadows ect. The true test of a logo is convert it to black and white no effects nothing. If it looks good like that then you nailed it.

Tyger
05-19-2005, 12:18 PM
thanx for all the input everyone. The pic i used was just a concept and i had no intentions of using gradients and shadows on the final logo, it's just what i had here at work to show at the time.....nevertheless here's originally what i had done but again, i'm not liking the font and how it's organized. Ican't seem to find a font that fits with this symbol. For the record it's not a dragon, Actually i don't know what it is, it can be what ever you think it is.

I love the symbol Tyger!! The font is definatel too thin I think. It's overpowered by the symbol so I barely even read the name. Have you tried just duplicating that like 10 times and plugging in different fonts, just to see the variations side by side? Sometimes I do that and it helps. :)

I'll see what I can think of font-wise too k :)

I really like your symbol. Always have.

The image strikes me as bold and powerful, so you want to choose a font that will enhance that message...

It's also sort of a fantasy style image, even though it is not a dragon.

I will think on it too and let you know if I can come up with anything that would stand out.
