ooh! I have a guinea pig story!

Years ago I got my mother a guinea pig for mothers day. She had always had them as pets when she was a kid, and wanted one that was colored like a woodchuck. I happened upon one in a pet store, and just *had* to get it for her... and she LOVED it.

She named it "Woody" as in "woodchuck".

Well, we were at a pet store one day picking up some guinea pig pellets, and ended up in line behind a man who was buying a guinea pig that looked like miniature version of the one I got for my mother. She saw it and exclaimed fondly, "OH! Look at THAT man's Woody!"

Heads turned... she blushed 3 shades of red, and I ended up cashing out by myself while she hid in the car.

Non spoken meaning: "Jim, I pay you crap, so I want you to do all of this so that my year end bonus will be better this year and I can sell my $250,000 house on the golf course and get something nicer."


Dude, while you're at it why don't you just study up and get your real estate license so you can sell his house for him so he doesn't have to pay a commission. Oh, and learn how build his new house too while you're at it.

Happy Friday, all... I had to think pretty hard to remember what in the world "Wondering about the origins of the "bird" meant... then I remembered that we weren't talking about chickens and such, so much as the state "bird" of New York... lol

My weekend will be largely occupied by a trip to the vet with 5 cats Saturday. Not particularly exciting, but I like to make sure that they are up to date on their wellness checks.

Going to the drive-in movies with Neuro tonight as "recovery" from a long week. Chances are I will fall asleep halfway into the first movie, but I'm going to try like a trooper to make it through both features!

Hey hey everyone...

Thank god it's friday.. I'm 5 days now into this diet, and I'm not enjoying it totally. Some of the meals are pretty good, but others just make it bad!! Like the cottage cheese.. and the egg yolks.. UGH!!

This weekend, going out for TEA with mom, grandma and great-grandma... then going to work at the cottage all afternoon and night saturday, and of course.. sunday.. mothers day! I have to go shopping tonight AGAIN.. I feel I didn't get quite enough for my mom. And deliver of my "order" has not arrived yet... ARRR.. they promissed for mothers day!!

Patrick... whenever I lose my card (which is quite often) all I do is go into the bank and ask for a new one, they give me a temp one till my new one comes in the mail.

They wouldn't help me one bit. The machine freezes up, so I leave my car in the ATM lane (with warning hazards on) and go to the front of the bank....they closed about five minutes ago. I got the manager's attention and he came to the door and said something to the effect that it wasn't their problem, there was another company that handled it. "Let's see, those ATMs say "Bank of America on them...they're in front of YOUR bank, I guess they're YOUR ATMs!!!" I nastily responded.

Jerko ff goes to get an 800 number and hands it to me (through the crack of the locked doors), so I said "Since they're NOT your ATMs, I guess you won't mind if I take a bat to them, right?" (I just wanted to see his response.) I returned to the ATM and kicked it a few times (used to work with my old car), then figured that I was gonna get the cops called on me if I went any further. I phoned up BoA on my cell and had my card cancelled, and I won't get a new one for a week or so.

Pain in the ass because a lot of my electronic transactions have the old card number, so I have to switch all that over now.

Quite the contrary, I think you should use it more. That way, next year we'll have all the GDFers and their finely groomed handle bars and Rollie Finger moustaches rockin the fest. Hell if they start now, by next year some of them could have a braided Viking stache. LOL :D
