Hi, everybody.

So, we have to get a printer for my workgroup. There are 4 of us, and we are looking for a laser/LED printer that meets the following requirements:

- Mac compatibility (only an issue with Dells, I think)
- shared connectivity and equal accessibility (either with multiple FireWire, etc. or external printer server)
- quick print time (16-35 ppm)
- fairly accurate color
- consistently good image and text quality
- tabloid-paper compatibility (this seems to be the criterion that adds thousands of dollars to the cost)

I haven't dealt with researching printers in awhile, so I would appreciate any discussion. At this point, the Xerox Phaser 7300 and 7750 series look the best to me, but I don't know whether printers that come close to comparing also cost less... and ideas?

THanks,
April

I think your on the right track. I use the phaser 790 at work and the 780 at home, they are the older versions of the ones your looking at and I love um.

to be honest, i'd love to get a phaser, any model would be fine. we used one where i used to work and it was awesome. excellent color and image/text quality, no compatibility issues, easy to network, output was ok unless it was just black, and tabloid availability. i did some looking around recently, especially for the phaser, but they are pricey. i will buy one as soon as i get the money to do so.

forgot to mention that they have had good reviews as well.
