I am working on a PC (yes, I know....the Mac is retired, I have reasons for using the PC and I simply have to use the PC, I have been well tongue-lashed, beleive me). I just hired a woman to help me...she is on a Mac. We need to exchange Illustrator files without problems...also without converting text to outlines. On our first try, her Mac Illy file came here and converted itself to a PDF, I managed to fight it back to .ai, but no matter what I do, the thing will not open smoothly (with the guide lines in place, etc.) AND the fonts (which we both have the same version of, only hers is Mac, mine's PC) are just a bunch of rubbish...can't read the text at all. Does anyone know of any way to seemlessly intergrate the two platforms with Illy?

What version of Illustrator is she saving it to? Perhaps saving it to an older version will help.

And make sure the '.ai' extension is there.

And if using email both of you should invest in Stuffit (yes it's available for PC) to keep corruption to a minimum.
