Opening an ai file: Strange Error message found

I upgraded to Tiger recently and I have been getting a strange error message when trying to open an ai file... I have never seen it before...
anyone know what this is or how do I get rid of it... this is really causing me problems and only part of my ai files are readable...

Error reads: ! Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an incomplete or garbled object description. Offending operator: ';' Context:6 () XW U 9 () XW
Strange... and it is on more than one file. what could effect my illy software and the way that it opens a file...

I do not think that the tiger upgrade has anything to do with it, How do you guys archive your files, I currently save as an ai

You know I received the SAME error yesterday. I recently switched from PC to MAC (yahOo!) and when opening a .ai file on my mac, business cards in fact, I got the same thing....As far as I can tell some minor objects were missing, but it printed fine. Everything worked, until I tried to convert to a PDF...big issues. My page blew up to 99" x 99" - really weird.

I solved this by condesningg my layers and replacinigg my job bar. I think this error, in my opinion, is to do with broken vector objects. Not sure if that helps.

I see that error all the time going from PC to Mac and vice versa and between versions, especially Illy CS .eps files. When you installed Tiger did you do a complete system wipe/reload or just an upgrade (the former is most highly recommended). Which version of Illy are you using? You may want to try removing and reloading Illustrator.
