When I export my file as a PDF format in Indesign and then check it in Flightcheck, it tells me the main image in my PDF document has LZW encoding. When I flightcheck the actual InDesign file, this doesn't happen. I checked the PDF prefs, but it seems like everything is okay. Also, in Flightcheck the image says the DPI is 72 although the res. reads to be 300.

Is Acrobat making my images low res? Also when PDFing I choose Acrobat 5.0 compatibility because 4.0 gives me weird hariline frames around text boxes. But making it compatible to either 4.0 or 5.0 still gives me a LZW encoding.

Does anyone know what may be going on?? Thanks!

First- welcome to the forum!
Second - Please don't double post.
Third - have you checked your compression settings for saving your pdf? Sounds like they are set to 'screen' rather than 'Print'.

there is also a flight check like feature in ID. Seems to do a decent job.

Welcome to the GDF...sorry but I deleted your double post. It tends to get confusing when you do that. :o)

Have to agree with PD...sounds to me like its set to optimize for screen.
