I hate that site with a bitter passion
For the most part its a bunch of highschool and junior high kids prostituting themselves.
Alot of which must prostitute themselves cause sadly... a vast majority of the work on that site is a joke. I filter crazy ones are great, lol.
- in my opinion, i'm sure there are others who disagree.
Maybe i'm just prejudice aginst anima... that could be it to.
Cause thats what most of the work on that site is.
In addition, when you look in the jobs section and you have a bunch of free b posts its just not a very inventing atmosphere.

the vibe on the site is definitely not as friendly as this one, but some of the work is unreal... you cannot deny that..
i find its always worth a look when i feeling a bit blocked..

That work is pretty solid I must agree. I have done some similar type illustrations but they all always started in 3D Max. Id be very interested in seeing the method used to achieve such depth from merely a 2D app. As far as Deviant Art goes, I have not had much experience with it but I shall be looking into it going forward.

Liberal use of gradients, Twirl filter, blur, copying and pasting, and opacity changes. And a lot of patience. Probably a lot of selective erasing, too.
But nevertheless a very attractive product.

That kind of work reminds me of poop. Seriously.
It looks cool and all, but it's just an experimental random mix of filters and gradients until something sort of cool happens. Then they just polish it to make it look like that did that on purpose. Add a couple silly trendy hairlines and some letters to make it look like a machine rather than a huge mess of sweeping blurryness, and call it art. Eh.

I know nothing about what is involved with making that kind of work, and the first few I saw knocked my socks off, then I realized every piece that I looked at afterwords looked remarkably similar. It looks like it is tough to get any kind of style across with that blended-puke tornado filter.
Is it a difficult process? I think it would be nice to have in your arsenal for bgs, or an element of a project but not as the focus itself.

It tells me that I'm forbidden to see the work. :p
Well, there's another one that's more professional and the art work produce by this one person is just so awsome. The image quality just looks so real.
