(new to this site, my first post)

Hi, I need some free font download site recommendation and some icon sites for inspiration for creating icons (32x32) for my company on a software development project. For the icon sites, they don't need to have free d/l, I just need to look at some on the browser to get some idea.

For fonts, I know dafont and bluevertigo, what are others worth visiting?

I did search thru the forum and someone said there's a resource section on this site, but I couldn't find it. Any help on that? Is it the Creative Resources tab?

Many thanks!

Hi Tim, welcome to the forum. Our resources section is located a few sections down from this one. There is a sticky thread with all kinds of fonts. I don't know any icon sites.

www.1001fonts.com
www.searchfonts.com

are two good sties for fonts, i think that they are the correct URL's but if not then just google them.

The resource section is actually part of the forum, if you look in the list of forums then the resource section should be near the bottom.

As for icons i'm not sure about sites for specifically icons but if you're developing a windows based GUI then Microsoft VISIO is always good for finding glyphs and symbols. Try searching for a royalty free clipart site, they are bound to have a set of glyphs that you could 'be inspired' from.

I have not visited in quite some time but http://www.acidfonts.com/ used to be a great resource for more "grungy" and artistic type faces. And if you're going for a dirty, semi-destroyed look http://misprintedtype.com/v3/ has some great free finds.

Cheers

Searching the freebies can be frustrating with more popups than results. The sponsors of this site, Jupiter, owns clipart.com which is not free, but you can search for free to see if you like it. If you do like the results, they have several options for a subscription.
