[SHOUT OUT] This one goes out to all my brothas and sistas locked down in traffic jams [/SHOUT OUT]

Seriously, it took me one hour to get home from work today! (A trip that is usually made via bicycle and takes 25 min). There needs to be a better for people to get to-and-from work. I mean what are people going to do when gas is $10 a gallon? Is this the point where we go, "hmmmm, maybe there is something to this mass-transit thing." I don't know peoples, I need a car just as much as the next person (unless any of you know how I can put a kayak ontop of a bike), but I do believe that there is a better solution to do this daily commute thing.

So to all of you who can't walk, run, peddle, teleport, fly, skip, cartwheel to where ever it is that you need to go, and end up not moving more than you are moving I feel for you. But hey, they did promise us flying cars, didn't they?

my recent contribution to "things that jerk my chain"

ok, it took me OVER TWO HOURS to get home tonight.

My exit on the highway was closed, I got bad directions, I got lost. No map in the car. No cell phone. No way to get help.

I stopped again and got better directions, my car overheated twice, I had problems with my brakes 3 times that almost resulted in me ramming into the car in front of me, and when I finally got on the highway it was SO backed up that I overheated AGAIN from sitting there.

Well, I finally got home 2 hours later, hysterical but in one piece. AND we are out of beer.

I have to get thecar back to the mechanic who just did the brakes last month, and that means I have to miss work, with NO pay.

My work is about a half hour drive away, not too bad. But at one point, it was taking well over an hour each night because of idiotic stuff like construction, construction, construction. I felt the same as Michael Douglas in that "Falling Down" movie where he says to the construction worker "this road was fine the other day!"

But that's all gone these days, because they just opened up a new highway in the past year and that's taken a whole lot of stress off Highway 70.
