I am developing a site for a good friend of mine. She is a breakbeat dj who loves outdoor events. She is a very strong and intelligent woman, so I am trying to somehow show that with the design. So far, I have several concepts.
Number 1-
I was going for simple and clean. While I like this layout a lot, it really doesn't fit the theme of electronic dj at all.

Number 2-
More dirty, more "organic" maybe. Also, she really likes purple.
This is just a variation of number 1.

Number 3-
Same layout idea, different feel. Again, it doesn't "say" electronic music, and is probably more suited as someones blog theme. Not my favorite, but I wanted to show it anyways.

Number 4-
First of all, I do not like "tech", pixel fonts, or "extras" in my design. I like sleek, clean, no clutter layout. But, this is more what I see when I think of a dj and the scene. I used purples, and kept it dark. This is the best one in my opinion, but it seems generic, and overdone. I am just really drawing a blank here.

I would like to have the home page of the site function as a "go to" for her latest news, updates, events calendar, and new media to download. The less clicking the user has to do to get the info, the better imo. I have no problem programming the site, but this design is really throwing me off.
Any comments, ideas, suggestions, criticisms are very welcome.
