I've never used the gradient fill in Illustrator or InDesign yet, partly because I don't understand it.

I don't get how to use it, or change the colour of the gradient either. It stays black and white in Illustrator for some reason.

Someone got any links or anything I can read upon, or explain how to use the gradient fills in Illustrator and InDesign?

Thanks. :)

well, how I do it is to make sure the colors you are gradiating to/from are swatches, and then once you have the object filled with the black/white gradient, drag the swatch on top of the gradient, and then if you want to mess with the way it gradiates, either use the sliders or the gradient tool.

Make sure you are affecting the fill and not the sroke. Use the swatch window and Gradient window to make the gradient you want. I suggest you convert the colors on the scale to CMYK for a richer blend.

You are probably set to the greyscale colour pallete, there should be an arrow at the top right of your tool box that flies out with a set of options...change the colour pallete from here.

drag and drop the swatch into the gradient panel.

You can also click one of the sliders and then select the color you choose for a fill.
