I get this all the time and I haven't put a finger on it yet. When I drag and drop eps or tiffs, doesn't matter, onto Photoshop icon, I get the error "Could not import the clipboard because of a program error". Anybody have a fix figgered out on this one? OS Panther and PSD 7 or CS, happens on both.

Interesting, I did not even know you could do that, what purpose does is serve? Why not just open photoshop, then open the file?

I'm in prepress and I preflight a bunch of images at one time, opening 15-20 at once dropping em on the psd icon. Used to work fine in OS9. dunno why not now.

You can also select all of the files then double-click one of them and it opens them all. You can also get info on a group of files and select the default application that you want to open them.

Rickself, I haven't seen that error. You've tried the Adobe site?
I love that drag open myself and wouldn't want to live without it.

It sounds like a clipboard problem rather than a Photoshop problem. Does this happen all the time or only when you are working on something massive that may have been copied to clipboard?

Adobe had nothing.
The error shows up whether I just boot up for the first time in the day or in the middle of the day. I drag maybe 10 psd, tiff, or eps files to the psd icon and the error comes up with an "OK" button, clears and comes back. After I OK the second time, Photoshop remains open but nothing happens and I can drag the same files to the icon and they open. So there is a workaround, just inconvenient. I did a google search and only hit once at MACOSX.com. No answers there either. Oh well...pffffttt!

Have you tried to have photoshop already opening and then dragging all the files from your explorer onto photoshop?
