Does it actually exist anywhere? Any one got any hot tips?

I was pointed in the direction of altervista.org, but you need to write an email in Italian explaining how worthy your site is etc, and my Italian is, well, non existent (not to mention the distinct unworthiness of my planned site)!

Ciao, grazie....

you could check out www.domaindlx.com - they used to be pretty good, but I have heard a rumor that they have pop up ads now. Still, free and no banners... might be worth a look!

good luck!

I use doteasy for a couple of my sites, and it's nice.
It's sort of free, you have to buy your domain name for like $20-$25 or something but then you get it hosted for a year. It's no frills hosting, (like 100mb, and 10 emails) but what do you expect for $25/yr.

You could always use the personal webspace given to you by your isp - but then you can't have your own domain name.

Ya have to ask yourself, "what would be anyone's motivation for offering free web hosting with no adverts of any kind?". Can anyone think of a reason? I can't. I mean not one that's not straight out of a Walt Disney story, anyway. :)

Well maybe that would work where he is (in Italy, I presume) but I gave up trying to load it after 20 seconds of blank page.
