Does anyone have any experience with content management systems? In particular one called "doitlive"?

I'm not shore about it never heard of it. You might want to go Here (http://www.cmsmatrix.org/) to compare features and find some amazing stuff.

That a great site but I was wondering about the specific package "doitlive". I'm working on a website for a university department and they are already using it and want me to do the website (Lord help me with this one!!!) using it as well. I don't have a choice in the matter.

See if you can get some training from them on it. I figure $200 on training using a CMS software is quiet an investment.

I've used other content management systems before (SiteMaker, PHP Nuke) so I don't expect a major learning curve. I just thought I'd see if I had any resources here since the CMS company doesn't have much of anything in terms of documentation.

I've just installed a content management system called 'icoya' based on the 'plone' CMS. Its really easy to use and is very very powerful. its also easy to install: get a windows server and just install with an installer, no code or mucking around. PLus its all browser based so you can access it from anywhere and its FULLY customisable CSS. http://www.icoya.com/ highly recommended!

the sales pitch aside, i've never heard of doitlive, can't help you there. P.S icoya is open source! PPS it can run on linux as well.
