House Haunting

Well, as promised, we met with our paranormal research people about our haunted house and they teased us with some EVP's...that's Electronic Voice Phenomenom to the uninitiated. The group is coming back later this week with photos and video!!

SO now for your listening enjoyment, I've hopefully attached two EVP's. Both were taken in the addition to our master bedroom. The addition had a door to our bedroom but the last owner paneled over the doorway. We now know why! That addition area is where, aparently, the portal is where the ghosts come and go.

One EVP states, "They shouldn't have broken it", to which we have no idea what the ghosts are talking about. The second EVP states "they don't belong in here", which we HOPE doesn't pertain to us, but rather to the researchers!! Gawd we can hope.

I find this stuff fascinating. "They shouldn't have" sounds like the ghost has an British accent. What do the ghosts do? How did you know you had them they must of made themselves known somehow? Flickering lights? Sliding chairs? Or did you actually see any of them? This stuff creeps me out but I do believe it? Tell me more!

I could write a book about the last year alone.

My wife and 2 of our daughters see people (ghosts) in the windows most of the time, when outside looking in. They have also seen them any numbers of times inside. When we first moved in to the house, my wife came from the bathroom into the kitchen and there, standing in front of the stove with his arms crossed across his chest, was an older man, stocky, graying hair, mustache, dressed in 40's era clothing like a builder. He and my wife locked eyes for maybe a second and he disappeared...not poof-like, he just faded out. She honestly thought he had walked into the house off the street...he was that "there".

Our psychic helped us to identify who was and still may be in the house.

That man,we assumed was Elmer, the man that built the house. We had just done some minor remodeling in the kitchen and we think he was giving us the eye...ghosts do not like change.

Then there was Emily, a not too shy 5 year old that loved playing pranks with my wife, giggling when there were cookies being made, throwing the towell on the floor and watching my wife pick it up and repeating this game a dozen times! Emily had a window in the addition to our house that she would draw on in the dried condensation on the window. She loved playing with our 1 year old grandson! And we videotaped one night when some helium balloons (my wife got for a birthday present) started dancing across the ceiling. We sang songs and talked to Emily and one balloon responded, (the other hanging perfectly still) especially when I'd mention our grandson or sing nursery rhymes. The balloons would be found in different areas of the house all the time. Emily left and we really miss her.

Then there was Larry, a nasty man we don't like saying his name. He had a short fuse and would throw tantrums, knocking pictures off our bedroom dreser, throwing stuffed animals around the room and knocking over the fan. OUr bedroom is right over our living room and my wife called one day and said it sounded like a road race up there. When I got home, we went up to see what the heck was going on and the bedroom was basically trashed. WHen he was around, the room would smell of pee or shit, depending on how moody he was. Our psychic had him removed from the house by angels, this after finding his 10 year old son in a closet in the basement, hiding since 1956, from his dad, who had been molesting him. The boy was trapped and our psychic released him to his mother in heaven.

Florence may be gone also, She would wander our bedroom at night, with lanterns in the front windows, waiting for her long lost love to come home. She left, we think, with Emily once Larry was gone and it was safer in the house. We gave Emily and Florence the option to stay and they did for a while, buit Emily was too young to realize that she had passed and missed her family. Funny thing...she liked to play hide n seek and woiuld get pisse when she would hide and nobody would find her!!

My wife has had her arm scratched to the point of bleeding, we think from Larry, our daughter had her finger slammed in the fridge door, we think by Emily (she was jealous) and there are always pictured moved on the mantle, turned over, chairs tipped over. One week my wife was trying to bake bread and the bread pans kept getting tossed on the floor while the dough was rising. Two days in a row this happened. She gave up. The next week when we got up in the morning, the bread pans and packages of yeast that had been put away, were not laid out neatly on the counter. Guess someone was apologizing. The bread session went without a hitch that day.

There are new spirits in the house that we're hoping to identify this weekend. I'll post on Monday what we find. I do have pictures of Emily's window and video of the balloons if yer interested and I can sample em down far enough.

Very interesting, can't wait to hear the updates. Thanks for taking the time to write all that Rick. How long have you lived there and did you know about the ghosts before moving in? I would be scared shitless especially if I were home alone at night watching scary movies. HEHE

Edit: Forget that question I remember you said you made an expansion or something on the house and removed a boarded up door that was the portal.

It's Friday, takin it easy. And I love talking about this stuff. I used to be the biggest skeptic that this shit doesn't happen. Not now. I don't see as much as my wife, buit I do see shadows, motion out of the corner of my eye, baseball sized orbs, both dark and light, streaking across the room. An smells. When one guy is around, the house stinks of pipe tobacco. And someone else before used to bring up the smell of bacon!

My wife knew as soon as she first set foot in the house that there was an uneasiness in the house. There are still rooms she won't go into. And there are a couple places I won't go after dark.

The addition to the house was stopped in mid-work about 20 years ago when Elmer passed away. The doorway from our badroom to the addition is paneled over and will not be opened up til the house is safe. The 2 EVP's were taken near that door.

Do you plan on selling ever? If you did would you feel the need to disclose the info even if were finally ghost free?

I want to have a sleep over. :) How old is the house? Is there a reason why there are so many ghosts? I understand Elmer, but what about the others? Where they living in the house? Is the presence of one ghost attract others? And how are you getting new ones? Just didn't know about them or they are more spoken now that the others have left? I am so intrigued this still is soooo interesting.

So we started to look at the picture of Emily's window and found the letters of her name, scrawled on the glass. I have a picture I'll sample down of her window.

And, keith1, we will never sell. This place is so cool, like a big W laying on it's side...5 levels in a 3 story house.

Here's Emily's window. She drew her name and a house and a couple of smiley faces. This area of the house is not accessible to anybody (living) but adults.
You enter this area up a iron spiral stairway. The psychic says this appears to be the portal where they come and go and hasn't been able to close the portal. Maybe this weekend. That stairway has a history somewhere.

There was 3 designers including myself. I didn't "last" I got a better job with a large format printer where I do less, but get paid more (more vacation too).

Directly in the center are some really teeny fingerprints.
Also, there is a house like drawing that more resembles a hang-man game type of thing. The horizontal lines going off to the right are mine :mad:
I wish I had a better picture here at work.
Some of the other stuff in a better picture are letters to her name. This cloudy background on the glass is on the inside, but has held up to rain, snow, wind, humidity. The drawing stopped when it appeared she left. There has been only one new mark since then and it was a bigger finger with a more bold stroke.

As promised, I have a new EVP recorded about 10 days ago at 2 in the morning. When we had the psychic come in and cleanse the house last November, she rid the house of a very nasty dad who had been molesting his son in the basement bedroom. We also found the 10 year old son hiding in a closet in the basement. He had died in 1956. He was released to the care of angels who took him to his mother in heaven.

Well, this evp makes us think that the dad didn't allow this to happen and is back, although his strength has weakened some. We can't "feel" his presence nearly as strong as we could before.

If I can figure how to upload this in one piece, I will.

I can break it down into 2 parts but it loses the effect.

For those interested in this thread from last month, I finally captured an orb in motion last week. I set my Minolta to take 1 shot per minute for a couple of hours and VOILA!

The cat was kinda intrigued by the whirrr-click-flash throughout the night and get busted on the table...that would be his whiskers on the left half of the picture.

But in the center sweeping by the cabinet towards the kitchen is the orb.

We're also getting more voices with the voice recorder in the overnight hours. A friend has identified one of the voices as a little girl named Anna and we're doing some more research to see if she lived on the property or has been caught up somehow in a transition of not completely crossing over yet.
