Cute turtles Gary. What do you feed those little things, fleas? How big do they get? Another question open to all GD Mutha F'ers, is it true some turtles can live to be over a 100 years old?

That's amazing, why can't dog's & cats live that long? well maybe that's a bit excessive, at least 50 years? But then imagine the over population. It's bad now all the unwanted dogs & cats out there.

life cycle is closely related to your heart rate. across all animals the heart only lasts for so many beats, number is close among all species. If you are a small mouse and your heart rate is high (beats per minute) you're going to reach that "magic" number before a larger critter with a slower heart beat like a turtle or a human. I'll try to find something on the web to back this up. I watched a program on it.

these turtle live to be about 20 years old. i really don't know how big they can get in the wild but they stay pretty small like this caged up. Their main diet is crickets, turtle logs, and feeder fish. The crickets get pretty messy in the tank. Floating cricket legs and guts an what not, feeder fish are not really nutritional for the turtles, but it gives them something to chase around the tank and they clean up any extra food floating around. My turtles also love grapes! They chase them around the tank snagging bites here and there. Sometimes I throw in a few pieces of raw hamburger meat. They love dandelion leaves and grape leaves.
