Uh huh. Dude, you send me a 700mb file, and I'll charge you an arm and a leg and maybe a left nut to rip it.

Far from being 'Perfect' for large format displays. Call your printer to get final output resolutions. You'd be surprised how big you can go at a reasonable, computer-ram-manageable file size.

Wonder what they do to 'customize' the file to that size. Even if they are using 8x10 chromes I find it hard to believe they are scanning that high. And some of that stuff is standard Getty, well what came up in my test searches anyway.

But by all means, use it. Good find there D-Frag. Sure beats trying to res up a 72 dpi jpg...
Just please be reasonable.
(It's a fact, printers routinely dump file sizes down to a manageable size anyway, but get real...).

That's pretty big. I have a couple of 35mm film scans i did that weight in at 250mb and 1440dpi. Mostly architectual stuff i took around Statesboro (historic buildings), but 750 megs would take a lot of ram in photoshop /emoticons/wink.gif I have one gig in my machine but would upgrade to 4 or so if i had to deal with that size of image.

yeah but are they big enough?
We're talking LARGE format here. Much MUCH over 11' x 17'.
More like over 4 feet in any given direction.

Hey print, it was just a reference there buddy :) me and you both know that if you bring me a 300dpi large format graphic, and I got 10 jobs in front of it to rip, that sucker is gettin bumped down to 150 dpi...hehe

and sara, try the SXC for stock photos....all free and most are a good enough size to print on a 20x30' at 150dpi. my other fav is istockphoto.com

It's a good Resource D-Frag. And good to know about.
I was gonna call em just for info on what they are providing. Forewarned is forearmed.
I'm just saying, first you pay too much money for too many megabytes, then you pay me more money to stupefy your file so I can get it printed. Sounds like Lose Lose on your end.
I'd say I win, but I don't when I gotta tie up a puter to open an image file for 20+ minutes. If it opens at all.
I'm whinin like a woman here. Complain if it's too big, Complain if it's too small... Never satisfied...
;)
Call your printer before downloading. Save some dough.
