Post your entries (1 entry per person) here. Cut off date for submitting photos will be Sunday August 28 so we have a week to vote.

You can host photos for free at www.imageshack.us if you like.

Editing software may be used for usual processing (cropping, tonal and color adjustments, resizing), but no outside elements, objects, or images can be pasted, drawn or added into the original image. No elements, objects, or images can be cloned, cut out, or taken out of the original image other than what occurs from cropping.

The theme is: "water"

steve-o, could you give us a quick overview of how to upload photos over there?

Do you want us to all upload into the GDF Gallery, or should we set up an individual gallery?

steve-o
08-01-2005, 09:18 PM
If you don't have an account first set one up at:

http://thecreativeforum.com/forum/register.php?

Then go to the gallery, where you can upload images to your member gallery (which is set up when you register, I think) and put a copy in the GDF gallery.

It's up to you whether you want to use the GDF gallery or not. In fact, I can create an August Photo Assignment subgallery.

I'll do that tomorrow.

with that new XT Tyger has, just give him the trophy. He could take a picture of a cow or a bridge or (apologies to Ulysses) underpants and win a water contest.:D

morea

the prestige can not be bought.

Tyger will have to earn the pocket lint like everyone else! :p

yeah, no favouritism! I wish I could take pictures with pocket lint though

rickself
08-01-2005, 11:29 PM
I had no idea the prize was of such prestigious nature.

When are we doing ghosts? Can I take a picture of one of my ghosts?
OBTW, I have more EVP's I'll post over on the old haunted house thread. Experience why I'm not sleeping much lately.

Mynock
08-01-2005, 11:31 PM
if you could get your ghosts to stand in a puddle or go swimming down by the tire swing then you could enter them

rickself
08-01-2005, 11:33 PM
IF I can get a picture of one of them (I do have one), it wouldn't be them standing in the puddle.

rickself
08-01-2005, 11:36 PM
if you could get your ghosts to stand in a puddle or go swimming down by the tire swing then you could enter them
I swear, Mynock, YOU must be psychic...how did YOU know I have a puddle AND a tire swing? ooooOOOOOoooo Spooky. Must be because my folks were from North Dakota. That's near Minnesota?

Mynock
08-01-2005, 11:38 PM
No Dak is near Minnesota, I'll have to thank your geography teacher some time. A tire swing down by the lake is as americana as apple pie, and if I am psychic maybe I'll have to try to fix your ghost problem. :)

rickself

my apologies...strayed from the subject. I'll get out my Minolta, register and submit my water photo. (Proton guns don't do much for our ghosts...hence the standing in my puddle comment several posts ago)

Took this pic in Kodiak, Alaska. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in this harbor in the cabin of one of these boats with my best friend. We woke up freezing and wet from our breathe condensing all over us. Outside, it was the beginning of a 3 and a half week rainfall. A woman (I'd never met her before) had invited us to her house for Christmas breakfast a few days prior, but when we got there, everyone was finished and gone, except for her. She did, however, let us split a muffin and a reheated jup o' joe. I left my friend there and proceded to spend the day going from house to house of people I didn't really know who had invited me to be with them and their families, and kept missing the main meal. I got home late at night to the dogs I had been dogsitting, and found a box of stovetop stuffing in the back of the pantry. I cooked it up in the microwave, while sitting on a stool in the kitchen daydreaming about what the rest of my family was doing in Washington state. When the stuffing was done, I split it into thirds. Some for me, some for the dogs, and sat down at the piano and played Christmas tunes, until I went to sleep in the huge 10 bedroom cabin on the beach. I was all alone that night. All of my roomates were spending the holidays with their families... It's my most favorite memory, and I only told it in hopes that it would make the picture look better so that I could WIN!

(not an entry, just thought it would be appropriate to post this here.)

I don't know if anyone heard, but we had quite a storm here in Toronto on Friday. Anyway, In our warehouse we've had problems in the past with flooding. something about bad pipe lines, and there are holes in the floor to access certain pipes. Well friday was the worst it's ever been, our whole warhouse got flooded with water, and we even had to use some of our scrap product to act as sand bags to divert the flow of water out the back docks.

I only have one pic with me but i'll share this one with you now, the rest are at work.

I do have one question though, I uploaded my image to the TheCreativeForum and I was asked if I what categories to post it in. So I said The GDF one and the member one. It puts two photos in my gallery one for each section. I don't need two of every photo. So how do I fix this? How or do I delete the extra one?

woodwardo
08-25-2005, 05:39 PM
Ohh I had an AE-1.. Great camera. I sold mine to fund my digi-cam, funny thing is over the four or five years I had that camera, when I traded it in, it actually appreciated in value. More than I can say for any of my digitals. I regret letting it go - there's just something about shooting with film, like it's more satisfying or something maybe it's because you have to wait to see the results. Oh well, I do have to admit if I had a film camera and no digital, I wouldn't have nearly as many images captured. Sorry... back to the topic at hand.
