Your designing a business card, and you want the corners to be round. How do you do it in Illustrator? I created a new document (size of business card) and then drew a round cornered rectangle using the tool, within the artboard. Is this how you do it really? The curves looked a bit odd, so just wondering.
Also, when designing membership cards, what information should be present on them? Any tips and things to be aware of when designing membership cards, please share.
Thanks in advance once again GDF! :D

Well I would think you would ask your printer first. They might even have a template for you. Just don't put anything important in there - they will cut it off.
Membership cards for what? Maybe you could do like they do on checks and when it gets copied it says void. Don't make it easy to duplicate. My only thought.
Are you getting the corners die-cut? Since it is a standard size your printer should have the dies already, just ask about corner radius. As for information: name / year / expiration date / signature line / Maybe president / treasurer signature line

MD is correct, the printer will deal with it. You do not have to make a template for the round corner. You can bleed off on the round corner though, just do not put graphics or type near the corners that you don't want cut off. :)
