Hey, It's me on my second swing at geting this logo right. I would like you to remember that this logo is only for online work and will not be put on anything outside of my site. These are the origonal, and second try. Please tell me how I improved and tell me what you like and don't like, Thanks.

Here are a couple things to think about:

- why orange? Do you just like orange, or is it supposed to represent something?

- Why is the "T" in tension in italic? It seems to take away from the strength of the mark.

- What does "tension web" mean? Can you brainstorm those two words and then make any associations with imagery?

- Think about the break in your text... where do you want the emphasis? Like this:

Tomorrow's design
. . . TODAY

- You might want to get rid of (or change) the gradient inside the letters, it makes them harder to read. Try to think about letters as part of the design instead of just as "letters", if that makes any sense.

Those are just a few ideas... I hope some of that was helpful!

Yes, Thank you that was very helpful, but could you please tell me what you think in comparing the two? Thanks.

lose the gradient on both... now then.

I find the second one more sucessfull in unifing the whole compostion.

However, the second one is more a banner then an indididual logo.

On the otherhand, the first one is a logo... minus the side text.

The concept behind the T is interesting and lacking at the same time.

Is there a purpose behind it.. or do you just like italics?

anyhow, I would search for a more stong concept.

Think about the text emphasis as morea mentioned.

I would also just cut the logo short to:

Tension design.

Something that allways helps me in beggining is browsing through stock photos that have to do with the text.

In search of some conceptual references which may be worth intergrating into the design.

I would have to agree as well with the above posts. Since you are young and still learning I will go easy on you.
1. NEVER use gradients in a logo...NEVER!

2. Just because you will be using this logo only online now does not mean that will always be the case. What about business cards? When you bill a customer, won't you want this logo on your invoice?

3. NEVER design in color. It has to work in black and white first. Color choice is last.

4. Have a good reason for every thing you do in your design. This is called getting a concept. Unfortunately, many people have no concept or a weak one at best. Brainstorm, doodle, fill up pages and pages of sketches. Take a little break and do some more. When you start getting really good ideas your brain is warmed up.

5. Don't give up. Read up on design, logo design, design basics etc. Their is much to learn, so start now. Visit baddesignkills.com to see what not to do.

That is all for now. Keep pushing yourself.
