I'm not a photographer, but I like photography of course..
I took a couple of shots of one of my best friends, can any one give me some feedback on these? How I could improve these?
Damn..I wish I knew more about lighting too :/

the 1st one is decent, though with a little more vibrant of a background and more of a focus on the eyes it could have been a great shot.
2nd pic - the thing that saves it is adding her name the way you did, otherwise it looks kind of awkward, her hairline is cut off on top so it almost eludes to her being bald on top, so with the hairline it probably would have framed it a bit better.
3rd - looks a little photoshopy, was that the original image?
beautiful girl, always fun to photograph, for some reason guys beauty just can't be captured the same way a women's can by photography. ;o)
and by no means take my critique as end all of photo critiques, i am still very much an amateur (only a couple classes in college) and I bought a digital Rebel in early April and have been going nuts since then shooting and learning the best i can.

Hey Ally,
I am an ameture too (VERY much ameture) but when I take my photos I pay alot of attention to the framing in the actual shot. Everything I have taken I have framed when taking the pic - and cropped nothing in photoshop. If you haven't tried paying more attention to that - try it. It really makes a difference in your composition I think.
