Just thought I'd share something that I've got in the works. It's not 100% approved by the customer yet, but hopefully soon. It's all done in Illustrator 8.0...4 spot colors, black, gray, blue and red.
Let me know what you think of it...good or bad.

I love your work, YNOT.
Great attention to detail, highlights and shading. I also like the way you set the cars in interesting "poses" instead of just straight on. Awesome job!

Love the shirt, awesome detail. I'd still rather have the car though.

Dude, you know what this would look good on? A light sepia t-shirt. I don't think pure white would do it justice.
I would like to entertain the idea of more of a black to white gradient instead of black to grey in the windows, though.
But what's going on with the red in the blue car's front tire?

I like it! only one question: Why do it in 4 spot colors when you can do it in only 3? Gray could not be percent of black?
Thanks guys for all of the feedback.
Cyclops...I usually do my gray as a screen of black, but it never turns out as nice as a true spot gray. Since the customer only wanted blue and red for the cars, I figured I'd throw in a gray to make it look better since there is so much coverage. I've been doing this for a long time and I'm never happy with screened black for a gray area, so I try to use gray ink whenever possible.
Thanks again...glad everyone likes it!

Use the negative space to create the positive shapes.
Don't proceeed by just outlining the car.
You should try and work from the inside out.
YNOT very nice job... i like alot.
around how many hours/days/months...if you don't mind me asking.

My best tip would be this...I usually illustrate from good quality photos, that way I can get as detailed as possible. Good luck.
