Hey all,
I used to join in around here a few years ago, but I don't even remember if I joined up or what my email or username was at the time. I may have just surfed the forums as a visitor, but I am familiar with GDF nonetheless. Since then I've gotten married, switched jobs, become a father, gotten a promotion, and helped my wife put another bun in the oven.
I currently work for the Paxton Media Group which owns and operates several small-market newsprint publications - thirty-two daily papers and fifteen weekly publications to be exact. I began as a Graphic Artist at one of those papers in Owensboro, Kentucky (Messenger-Inquirer) in 2009 and was promoted to the position of Graphics Center Manager in December 2011. I now manage a staff of thirty-four graphic artists in a hub setting which produces all of the advertising material for all forty-seven PMG publications.
It's been a fun ride, and it's no where close to being over. I do quite a bit of freelance work still and I enjoy personal creative projects now more than ever. I'm just looking to dive in to a community of like minded people and have design conversation when I'm not configuring got gain and troubleshooting pre-press issues - or changing diapers.
So, that was a long-winded "Hi!"
