I dont like the new forum either....main reason....people, and im sick of the negativity around here.......im not looking forward to 1000 posts either......oh and another thing....if I post something and dont ask for c & c, then I expect people to keep there big mouths shut....sit back....and enjoy the damn things. ugghhhhh, im just frustrated, all of my forums I visit online are going to crap quicker then adobe coming out with another upgrade.

I find post quicker then I used to. The only thing I don't like are the colors.

You guys think the critiques are getting out of hand?

Take a look at your post for the naked bean flyer, You didn't ask for feedback in your first post and after no comments were made you were looking for feedback!

and I think that your entire post here is negative. What is up with that.

I don't mind the new forum... except for all the smilies

yeah well i was frustrated mickey cuz i thought it was a funny idea/theme...i was just expecting for people to maybe find the humor in it maybe even post something funny or usefull, not to tear the DINGLEBERRIE out of it cuz its low res....hello www!!!..... i was going to post in the showcase last nite (a digital cubist self portrait) but even after I had it linked and everything I realized the images were a little blurry....so i deleted it.....its nit picking like that, that makes me not want to post...yes I know its low res...and yes...I realize I am working on the internet. it came across negative because that is the emotion I am trying to put out to the fellow gdfers....that i wasnt happy about it.....now if people want me to leave or something because im not happy with how the site is going...then fine I will, this was a very happy up beat place for me when i first got here.....im just frustrated is all. and i dont want to make anyone mad by me being unhappy with comments or anything....so im just not going to post as much. resume daily lives......//end line//.

p.s. im also not trying to be a complete asshole here, but it does seem like alot of the regulars kinda dissapeared around here, maybe im just going through withdrawls of the old site, maybe the moon is off a slight bit and my mind is floating, maybe trees do make a sound in the woods when they fall and no one is around to hear it.

Don't worry D-frag I was just pointing out the obvious to set you back a notch or two so you didn't go off on some rant that really won't help anyway. I know that I have slowed my posting as well I just haven't seen as many upbeat and sincere design posts lately. I still think that this a usfull forum but with the transition in look also came a transition in attitude I have noticed. Don't know why. I wish we had the old 'simple' forum back but we don't. So as fare as this forum is concerned in the way it looks I am still only fed up with the smilies, as for the posts and such WELL....

I hope we can get back to more about what this forum is all about. Time will tell.

                D-frag, I noticed it too.
There are a lot of newbies, people who don't care about design, people who care too much, people who don't do searches or RTFM before asking the same question for the 8th time and everyone has their own opinion about art. There is always gonna be something someone doesn't like about something and I been as guilty as the rest. That's why I mentioned in some thread or other that I am not offering any more opinions on artwork. If some designer wants to do logos in Photoshop, fine by me now. I'll print em a sign if they ever go on to something other than letterhead or web banners. If I have time I will answer the questions I feel like answering, mainly cuz I like puzzles. But even that may stop eventually. This place was fun but all things wax and wane perhaps to wax again someday.

I'm taking the time to answer you, man. So I guess we're both Assholes?

Yes indeed every thread used to become about sex somehow within 3 or 4 posts. That's what I miss. Who the hell wants to talk about graphic design. I mean sh!t let's get back to the important stuff.

yes fellow gdf assholes...hehe, well i for one am still trying to respond to people who consider doing logos in ps, i do see alot of noobs around, heres an idea....it seemed that before people joined and starting posting most of the time they said that they had been hanging around for weeks reading and checking it out before introducing themselves. Maybe back then we had that stigma about us, you know like people said 'Whoah, these people really got there DINGLEBERRIE together, ill probably look like a fool if I join and post a logo done in ps' and so that filtered out alot of the proffessionals from the 'at home' designers. Maybe now we are posting stuff (mine as an example) that is not up to par, hence we are drawing that kind of crowd....DINGLEBERRIE for all I know I could be responsible with my posts....

Hey I know I've been nit picking alot latley but to tell the truth I always appreciated TallMikeG cause he was honest with the critique and I felt like yea I need to look for things that might hinder the design as wel as he has done with me in the past. You see back in the spring of 2003 it was mainly TallMikeG, Kool, Magnus, Defjoe, Case and I think Madora was around then too. I used to love the way Mike and Case tore up my designs and I believe it really made me into a better artist.

I meant no offense of the things I said, maybe they seem cocky to you but I hear the same thing when I post artwork like your fonts are spaced to much, the colors suck etc. I don't mind the critique as long as I know it's constructive.

I still enjoy this board alot. I miss TallMikeG and Cases input alot. But I consider you all new to this board just not newbies. I appreciate all the feedback I get from all of you and I feel you guys always help me out when I'm in a crunch. So Thanks everyone that has actually help me in anyway or critiqued my work.

I work alone so this board to me is an asset I canot replace.

D-Frag your a good designer but I feel like you take offense to easily to comments. Try to see the positive in things. Written comunication is hard to interpet sometimes cause of lack of punchuation unlike spoken topics. So just try to see the good alittle harder and you might see that my comments are never flames. I'm sarcastic sometimes and this might be interpited wrong, which I can't blame you for.

So if you feel offended just let me know next time don't just put me out there like that cause we all know I made the low-res comment.

I haven't liked this forum as much recently either. To me, it has had nothing to do with the new look, more the new attitude. I agree with D-frag. It stinks. Most of the veterans here have not been posting...something has definately changed.

We've had some problems on here lately, but it was more in the topics we had I think. I do think you guys are being a little hard tho, I know its been tense in the forum for what ever reason, but I would like to see us loosen up a bit more, I do miss the old forum, mainly because I now realize how much I loved the simple design, I think se should take it easy on eachother as well tho.
