  • Musicians! Join the YouTube Symphony!

    Join the world's first collaborative online orchestra.

    We invite musicians from around the world to audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Your video entries will be combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance, and the world will select the best of you to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall in April 2009.

    * 1. Prepare - Select your instrument to access the sheet music and rehearse with the conductor
    * 2. Submit - Upload your performances and submit them to join the YouTube Symphony Orchestra
    * 3. Entries - Browse videos to get ideas and check out the competition

        The music appears to be a Tan Dun piece based on Beethoven's Symphony 3, the Eroica. If you click around a bit there's a video of a performace of the piece.

        I love loaded percussion sections -- there are at least half a dozen pitched auto wheels!

          I don't play any of the instruments listed. Well, looking at the flute part, if I practiced my ass off I might be able to pull it off though I haven't seriously played flute since '93. Still likely wouldn't be good enough to bother. Plus I don't even know who has my flute anymore. My niece had it last, but she hasn't played in 3 or 4 years herself.

              wow..considering i play violin, alto saxaphone, piano, bass guitar, regular guitar AND sing...where would I start?
