  • A couple new mods on my truck...

    #1
I installed this "smoothie" bumper back in May and figured I'd have it painted in a few weeks. Then, weekend after weekend we just had so much going that it never got done. I was sick of driving it in primer and all mismatched.

Finally got some time this weekend to get it all painted and installed. All done with DuPont Chromabase paint/clear.

I'll get some better pics soon. Still plan to re-paint the 'grey' portions out as this factory grey looks a bit rough. Gonna paint out the GMC emblem grey too. Then all that's left is to paint out the door/tailgate handles and get/paint a roll pan. At that point she'll be pretty much done other than some little things here and there.

So here are the pics after I got her installed and washed last night...

Big thanks to my dad for letting me use his garage and for his help in getting it all done.

Hope ya like it. Any comments are certainly welcome.

Looks nice man! I need to get to some mods on my new ride too, so far everything has been for functionality and nothing for looks/performance.

Thanks everyone. I'm lovin' how it turned out and I almost forgot how much I love the smell of paint fumes.

Real nice Tony. It's refreshing to see that you went with the old skool, American Racing style wheels and not some 20" Chip Foose bling wheel (yawn) that everyone puts on their ride these days.

What's under the hood for motivation? Big/small block Chevy mill?

                    Thanks!

It's a stock small block 350 with aftermarket exhaust and a K&N air filter.

Yeah...I was big into lowered trucks in the 90's and after owning a 92 Silverado in the mid 90's I'm reliving my youth with this 92 GMC...doin' it up 90's style. I have to admit, I figured I'd catch hell for running 15" wheels, but so far everyone that's seen it loves it and actually compliments me on NOT going with bigger wheels.

I had this vision in my head since the day I spotted this truck and so far I'm stickin' to my plan and lovin' how it's lookin'.

                      Hello people.
So I'm considering it to study graphics design. I consider myself very creative and open minded but i'm not sure if this is what I should do? I've just Matriculated last year and need...

In regards to style I think it looks...well messy. It reminds me of something you would get doing autotrace. Strange shapes curves etc. I personally would like more hair like shapes. Nice smooth tapering...

I still say go for the screwpost book. It may seem expensive, but its flexibility outweighs the extra cost, IMO. If it's out of date in 6 months, you can spend $2.60 per page to add to it or to replace...

OK, my odyssey for a new portfolio continues. I found a local print shop who will print double-sided one-offs for me on a digital press on 100# cover, satin finish for $2.60 per double-sided page. The...

From what I understand, this version of vBulletin will work much better on a mobile device on its own without needing Tapatalk. I haven't tried this myself, but that's the rumor I hear.
