I know there's a good number of motorheads here. And a bunch of hobbyists and DIYers. Seems to me somebody used to talk about making chain mail (was it Drazan?)
I'm posting a link to a rather long build thread on a VW forum. How about making your own amphibious WWII VW out of an old Beetle? Using only models and pictures to guide you?
The workmanship in this thread is absolutely amazing! No real professional metal working tools--just basic hand tools, a welder, ingenuity, and sweat.
