    #1

Hostess Brands has threatened to shut the company down for good if striking workers don’t cross the picket line.

    One woman said:

"I hate to come in here, but I'm terrified that I'm gonna lose my snack cakes. So, I'm gonna stock up. Is that wrong?"
    Terrified?? LOL

I don't think I have had a Twinkie in about 20 years. What's wrong with me??

I was actually much more fond of the Zingers. I still actually crave one now and again

I've never had a Twinkie or a Zinger. Though Zingers look like lamingtons.

They've shut down the plant here in St. Louis, throwing almost 400 people out of work.

          What are they striking for?
part of me thinks they should be happy to have a job.
part of me wonders what management has taken away that could be so vital to risk it.
Seems they were still being offered a pension plan and insurance at the level of management.

          18000 more workers unemployed.

Whatever. Someday this country will wake up that you can't always have your cake and eat it too (pun intended). Or continually vote yourself a free lunch. You'll see more of this. I'm sure.

I don't eat twinkies, or any of that crap, though I do know people who live on them. I'm sure they'll find something else to eat. Maybe they'll just go out and buy a truckload. I hear tell that Twinkies have an awesome shelf life.

I'm guessing the working conditions have changed. (I haven't looked up the Twinkie negotiations to speak with any accuracy). I know my job has become insane with additional duties and they actually wanted to take 2000 away from our annual salary but add duty days. I am in line to make the 15 year mark (actually in year 16) but contract is not settled. This is a negotiated salary from 5 years ago and so in total, they are proposing some of us losing 6000 a year. Maybe it's something like that, that would cause workers to strike? Just thinkin' out loud.

Yep, this morning they filed a motion to shut it down and sell it off.

Just read that after posting. I still having found out why they were striking though. Seems like I'm short of time for everything these days.

Thousands of members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union went on strike last week after rejecting in September a contract offer that cut wages and benefits.

The company, founded in 1930, was fighting battles beyond labor costs. Competition is increasing in the snack space and Americans are increasingly conscious about healthy eating. Hostess also makes Dolly Madison, Drake's and Nature's Pride snacks.

                    Blame it on the broccoli.

It looks like "wage and benefits cuts." And now they won't have either.

We've already seen too much of this. Spend a fortnight in Wisconsin. We live with perpetual union bloviation. In most cases, people want to work, even if it means taking a small paycut. It's their own union dues receiving union bosses that play chess with their lively hoods. Hard working members lose their jobs while their leaders end up with barely a scratch all for the sake of filthy political advantage. The auto bailout was a shining example of men behaving badly with thousands of losers left strewn on the battlefield including many innocent bystanders. More sadness is in store for everybody with the looming universal healthcare mess just around the corner.

Hostess, well, I also don't regularly digest that gut filler but there are alot of people that do. However, their Apple Pies are good in a pinch. Sno-Balls are dreadful things though, blood soaked cake smothered in coconut shavings.

It has a wine label feel. The image is very faint. If it's a banner it might be better to separate image and type, to give it more substance. You're missing the chance to do a pens-leading-to-ramparts...

As is, the logo is EXTREMELY restricted on how it can be used. It won't work in 1 color and the detail on the castle is way too fine. If you're just slapping this on a website, I guess you'll be fine,...
