and Happy Boxing Day (early)
With new baby we are skipping church this year and that, mixed with dad in the hospital makes this a very odd feeling Christmas Eve. Usually we go to church and head to Aunt-in-law's for dinner.
Sorry haven't been around much lately...Baby Allie (as cute as she might be) loves to sleep all day and scream all night. meaning we get very little shut eye and very little chance of me being on a computer because of that.Comment

My husband cooked Christmas dinner for nine of us and it was so good! We had an Italian dinner. When my husband cooks, he either goes by recipes he's learned working at restaurants and can't share so-and-so's family secrets, or he makes it up as he goes along. I'm linking to photos that look close to what he made. If you click the link for Shrimp Lucia, that'll take you to the website of the restaurant he used to cook in (the top photo is the shrimp dish). The spiedini and pasta juliano dishes were from there, too. Lucia and Juliano are Roberto's kids.
Appetizer and salad course
- Salad with greens, artichoke hearts and olives
- From-scratch bruschetta (but I used moar chee)
- Shrimp Lucia
- Toasted French bread with basil pesto and avocado spread
- Chicken Spiedini
- Sausage and peppers
- Pork medallions stuffed with aged Italian ham, topped with prosciutto and mushroom gravy
- Cannelloni (seasoned beef and veal/spinach)
- Alfredo pasta
- Shrimp Juliano
- Puttanesca
- Bow tie pasta with marinara
- Layered crushed chocolate cookie crumbs, chocolate pudding, whipped topping and M&Ms
- Layered graham cracker crumbs, vanilla pudding, whipped topping and honey Teddy Grahams
- Cubed pound cake, fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, drizzled with a mix of strawberry and mango nectar
- Fresh sliced banana topped with graham cracker crumbs and slivered almonds with bourbon caramel sauce drizzled on top
