Darlin', I replied up in #14!

This week I had lots of high-profile work to do, including a project for the CEO. I'm doing work in Photoshop and Illustrator that's on the bleeding edge of my core competencies, as well as some pretty cool formatting work in InDesign. Plus, there's that Flash project that I'm trying to get my head around.

Most of what I accomplished this week was made easier by things I learned here at GDF. I can't thank y'all enough for sharing what you know with me.

I don't want to slight anyone, but I do have to especially thank PrintDriver for his grande format expertise. Because of what I've learned from you PD, I was able to pound out a display in less than 24 hours, and it will be VERY public, seen by some very important people. I'm especially happy with myself that I was able to get it right the first time.

Thanks again, here's to the next 30K!

It looks like it's supposed to be a spot glass coating on a matte card. No great way to simulate that in InDesign. Best way to make it happen is call the printer that is printing it and ask them, but...

Good god, the Illustrator user forum has an unending flow of posts complaining about the ill effects of Align to Pixel Grid on ... print-destined files.

Yeah, the black-on-black look can be had with relatively simple, subtly opposing gradients, with some inner shadow and (very little) outer glow applied to reinforce the "raised" edge. The size...
