Thanks to my professors in Transformations and Restorations at University of Virginia's School of Thaumatecture. Go, Hohenheim House -- yay!
In real life I have rabbit ears -- an ingenious television set-top box in brown plastic with gold-tone trim, with a big knob. When you twist the knob two antennae. of the same stuff metal measuring tapes are made of, emerge. You can adjust the length by turning the knob back and forth.
Worked perfectly when I bought it in an antique store for a few dollars. If only I had a restored Philco Predicta receiving set to go with it!
