Top of my list right now is the phone commercial with the mother and daughter weeping and sobbing in the cell phone store.

Speaking of phone commercials what exactly is ATT trying to promote in it's long running series of ads. I'm not sure if their point is "Buy our phone and it will turn you into a total a$$hole" or "If you are a total a$$hole we have just the phone for you".
    .
    Carpe Cerevisia!

"My pilot's license? It's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill? Revoked. Problems at the Kazakhstan border. I'd give you the details, but then I'd have to kill you... which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked."

g posted about that one on Facebook the other day. I had never really paid attention to it but now when it comes on it's like nails on a chalkboard.

I can't stand the iPhone one with Zoey Whatshernuts. "Is that rain?" Nah. Just water falling from the sky onto your roof.

I'm pretty tired of the Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine commercials on the radio during my commute. Nothing overtly irritating about them, they're just on constantly and they're so frickin' long.

          Everyone. Single. One.

Part of the reason I no longer watch actual television.

I download the shows I want to watch (paid account) and watch them at my leisure. I have no television in my house (due to absurd TV license fee which lines the pockets of the TV station execs, presenters and show creators) IN all honesty if you saw Irish TV you wouldn't want to pay for it either.

So, no TV = no adverts. Also = me not paying some snobby bloke from a wealthy background getting paid €500k a year (YES that much) to be on telly talking shite.

I like the fact I have a large monitor, computer hooked up to it. And just watch what I want.

Most shows are available via Youtube anyway - if I get stuck for something to watch.

That reminds me. That car commercial where the family starts singing "Crazy Train." Sharon Osbourne must be stopped.

              I hate...

Cars.com commercials where the people are looking at cars and random heads appear out of their bodies and start singing.

The insurance company commercial with the annoying pig. The insurance companies with Flo.

                  The iPhone double whammy:

All through football season there were tons of Apple ads with their smarmy announcer telling you how great the iPhone & ipad are. Then in the same commercial break there'd be AT&T ads with the SAME annoying announcer selling data plans for the iPhones.

And as insufferable as Apple's ads are, the competitions are even worse. If there wasn't fine print at the end, you'd hardly believe some of Motorola Droid's ads are about phones.

THIS. I dive for the mute button. I can't imagine ANY demographic that ad would actually appeal to.

This subject actually came up during our team meeting yesterday. The other ad that topped everyone's list was the JC Penney ad from before their rebrand in February...with all the people screaming NOOOOO! to the tune of Mozart's Requiem while being buried in ad circulars. But then we all pretty much agreed that the spots & circulars AFTER the rebrand have been pretty awesome.

Car buying guy whose confidence pops out of his back, well, it doesn't annoy me enough to dive for the remote, but still annoying.

Not sure if this is still running since I don't have a TV...but I couldn't stand to listen to that awful Arby's commercial with the guy who sings its "MMM MMM GOOD" or something like that.

Ah I can't even think about it now!

                          "IT'S GOOD MOOD FOOD!"

Yep, still running. "mm, mm, good" is Campbell's soup.

About any commercial that's all CGI, and nothing about the product.

The late 60's through to the late 80's had some clever, witty dialog in the commercials, then visual effects took over. And commercials became lamer than usual.
