I hear you Debz. The worst 3 months of my life were spent as a sales rep for a printing company.

you'll be fine skills-wise if you invest in some training (you're in school, right?) and keep at it. the blues are probably just from working a job that you don't enjoy. and that will sort itself out with time, once you're applying for design positions.

honestly, you may never be a designer at your company though. pretty sucky, but sometimes if people see you as doing one job, they have troubles accepting you in a different role.

chin up. you'll find the position that's right for you. maybe just take the energy that you're using on being blue and start looking for other work? perhaps you can network within your company? eat a brownie?

I agree with Unk. Keep working towards what you want and keep learning anything you can about your craft. You will get to be a full time designer eventually.

I spent my first 3 years out of colllege installing alarm systems for ADT and eventually became a regional manager. In those 3 years I spent a lot of time learning and improving my skills. I got rejected by many employers before I got my first job in GD.

This is one screwed up profession for sure, but I wouldn't want to do anything else.

Cool! You should have an advantage! A sales rep that actually knows what they are talking about!

I agree with Unk... you will never move over to designer there. Cause all they see you as is sales. You have to move on!
