I hate being unemployed. I hate it that I have been OVER exerting myself for 5 months and still have nothing. I just know that I am going to have to end up being a fkg telelmarketer in order to have food to eat.

Some days I just can't deal.

How are you eating now? It sucks being unemployed, morea. I'm sure you'll find something.

After losing my job 3 times in my first year of marriage, we sorta have a Jason loses his job fund that guarantees the we can eat for a few months if it happens again.

Unemployment checks are bridging the gap. I actually had a pretty good savings account at first, but am starting to rely on the credit cards more than I am comfortable with.

Ah, it's an adventure. I'm applying to anything and everything at this point in hopes of finding something. It's not easy, but I know it's a learning experience. I try to stay optomistic about it, but sometimes just need to vent a bit!

You could get a job waiting tables or delivering pizzas or slinging boxes at UPS. It would be better for you, in the long run, to have done an unpleasant part-time job than to have a new design job with massive credit card debts compiling interest. Just my (unsolicited) opinion. I worked at a grocery store once and washed dishes in a nice restaurant another time. It's no fun, but whattayado?

It seems like everybody goes through it at one point or another. I know that in time things will work out. It's j ust that after waiting so long I start to question my abilities and start berating myself even though deep down I know that it's not entirely my fault.

It's a tough world out there.

                Warm fuzzies to you Morea.

My boyfriend and I have gone though hard times recently. He finally found a job an hour and a half away and he has to be there by 5:45 a.m. Luckily for me, it is a nice sized town so that there is a chance of me finding a job there. But for now I work for my parents. Ever worked for family?? I'd rather be unemployed.

This is a good story, and sadly all too true. Although I can see where the tech and internet bubble burst, I just don't get why graphic design is diminishing. People are always going to need things designed, and it's not so simple as 'do-it-yourself' (unless you're so trained). Outsourcing to other countries is all I can figure, my godmother was telling me of such a situation.

You know what is truly sad? I attend career training classes for unemployed people with TWO people who hold Masters degrees in their respective fields. It's just not fair. (And also not very reassuring!)

                    Thanks for the support guys.

I quit my design job because of hostile work environment and harassment. My boss used to be a friend and so I didn't want to press the situation any further. I was happy just leaving. There was an investigation and he got a slap on the hand and I walked away from a good job. BUT... I worked for an Indian owned casino and they fire competent people every day to hire an indian with no education. It's not fair, but it is how the system works. It also sucks when applying for new jobs to explain why I left my previous design job.

Hang in there Morea! There is a reason for everything. Something better is coming your way. You just need to be patient.

                        Well, here's something...

I've got an interview on Monday afternoon. It's not for a design job, but as an Administrative Assistant. The office sounds nice, and that is what my original background was in.

I am being optomistic, because it would provide a regular source of income while I get my freelance stuff going. So here's hoping!
