Because he's a blame queen. We ran a job for a Registered Graphic Designer of Ontario...a good guy, great designer. A 2 colour logo on some BC's...red and black. The trap was a bit tight...but the 2 colours were ran at the same time, on coated stock. Problem was, near the end of the logo, the black migrated into the red.
The client didn't accept the cards, neither would I have. I showed my boss, he immediately blames our press guy. He says he stripped the plates up perfectly, so the pressman must have run them out of position. Complete bullshit. I've seen this guy strip plates...he's screwed up jobs big time, meanwhile, all he has to do is line the registraton marks up on the damn graph paper.
So I ask my boss, if thered ink was run first, why wasn't itlaid out to dry, then the black run tommorow? Were that to happen, there wouldn't be any migration, and the problem wouldn't have occured. He stammers, moans, yammers, andsays something about it making little difference, then mutters something aboutnot knowing, then trails off. He does this when he's cornered and he knows he's wrong.
He made the press guy run the 2 colours at once...normally it's fine, but on coated stock it's not always a novel idea.Secondly, being out side to side 1/16" is a big damn margin oferror...I knowour pressman twisted the plate a fraction of a hairto get the red to fit, but not 1/16" in the wrong direction.
My boss has no responsibility for hisactions. He has no competance, and again, he's demonstrated why I ****ing hatehim.
I am serving my time in hell on earth...at the job I am currently employed at.
