I had a client pay a small deposit to get me started on her logo and web redesign. In the contract I made with her, I stated that I would do several logos first for her to choose from and make revisions as necessary. I would then redo her website.
6 logos later that she totally hates, she said to just go ahead on working on the website and to get back to the logos later. So I sent her 2 mockups of web templates to show her the layout abilities. She replies: I've seen those online, I wanted something unique, I want my money back. Ugh.
I don't have anything in the contract about refunds, just this (summary, copied and pasted)
(TERMINATION:
Either party may terminate this Agreement by giving 30 days written notice to the other of such termination. In the event that Work is postponed or terminated at the request of the Client, Consultant shall have the right to bill pro rata for work completed through the date of that request, while reserving all rights under this Agreement. )
blah, blah, blah....
So even though she did not choose any of the logos, do you think that the sentence about billing for work completed still applies? This is the first time I've had a yucky client...Thanks.
