  • How to make floral backgrounds?

How do people make floral background like the one below? Is it hand painted or illustrated? I love the look of these but I canít find anywhere where people show how they make them. Advice would be appreciated!

Hi Treenie and welcome to GDF.

The floral part looks hand drawn or painted.

its a realm of kitsch art to hand paint flowers on old slate roofing tiles.

You could create a reasonable facsimile using victorian painted flower art and compositing it with a faux slate background in Photoshop.

I've actually printed these digital image composite things on slate tiles using a UV curing flatbed printer. Gymnastics involved, and certainly not an exterior product. But effective.
