Check out this article on supergraphics!
I hope to heck I never have to get one of these installed (bad day to pick up the phone).

Take a look at the size of the 'pixels' on those things... I think you could describe that as Inches per dot rather than dots per inch.

That looks really scary! I wonder how much someone gets paid to be a 'professional climber' and install those things. They couldn't pay me enough.

If it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done.
(When I grow up I want to be just like Keyare! He does excellent work - even when he's trying to not to.)

How do they even print something that big? I bet that was expensive.

In pieces. The Nur Blueboard prints 16' wide by the length of the roll of material, then it sounds like they heat welded sections together. Ryan, this thing had to cost pretty close to a million dollars. The printing alone had to be at least $700,000. Well, maybe not overseas... but still... designing, printing, shipping, staging and install? Now that's scary!

How do they print that big. Is it like a really huge printer or something?

uuuuuum yeah ryan it is, the one I deal with (which im sure there are larger) prints 10 feet across, it sits in a whole room just by itself. in fact you can use it to print custom wallpaper if you want to too, which is super cool. But yes, they print them digitally, not sure exactly what names but they are big printers.

Nur and VUTEk both have 16 foot wide machines. There is one other but can't remember the name at the mo. The two VUTEk's I've seen have their own shop the size of a fairly large barn. I'm not sure how long a roll of material is but I've done these seamless over 40 feet and imagine the roll is either 100 or 300 feet. The welder is about 20 feet long to hot weld 16' wide material into even longer pieces if you want. You can stitch thru a 1/2 dollar coin (or your hand) with the sewing machine they use.

Check it out

For scale there is a keyboard on the left side of the machine.
