Does anyone know what font is used at the top of a dollar bill, where it says "Federal Reserve"

I would appreciate any help you can provide

    Thanks!

Try this site..... see if anything there is what you might be looking for. I don't think you can find an exact replica of the currency font due to counterfit issues

Yeah, it's probably a proprietory font - but...

Here is a copy of it: http://www.smackbomb.com/famousfonts...onedollar.html

just an FYI for everyone and anyone-
a friend of mine just sent me this link today, so I haven't
        looked through it too much,
but it MAY just be the answer to all those,
"what the font???" questions we all have at some time or another....

I've used it. It's really dependent on the quality of the sample you upload, and a lot of times just doesn't come up with anything remotely close. Kind of a crapshoot.

This is not to pan it, just to say that it doesn't always work.

yeah, I kinda wondered if it was depending on the format of the sample.
Like, does it matter between vector, raster, fonts embedded or not,
            type to outlines etc.

            hmmm... thanks for the feedback.

sorry to bust in your thread CWS

Well, ideally, the sample that you upload would be black on white, or white on black, and very crisp character outlines. Sometimes it has a hard time detecting character edges. I don't think you can upload anything but raster formats. Never tried, usually I'm going with a JPEG image.

The font that I have used that is the closest by far that I can find is called United States. You can go to http://www.dafont.com/united-states.font and download it for free.

Sry if bringing back a dead thread

It really helps to get the sample as close to horizontal too. The greater the slant the less likely it is to be recognised
