I don't know if it's a good idea...(Mods can advice), how about looking in previous "The Showcase" threads and designing your version for the companies on there?

How about an energy replenishing sports drink manufacturer? You know like a competitor to RedBull or something, could be quite an interesting one.

The companies target market would be 20-35yr old sports enthusiast, they earn a decent wage and have plenty of disposable income to spend on enjoying their chosen sport (which i would imagine would be premarily
action based - mountain biking, running, snowboarding, kayaking etc).

They will also want to sponsor trendy music and sporting events that their target audience will attend, things like Glastonbury, the X games etc... so this might be worth bearing in mind when doing the logo as it should sit comfortably with the logo of the event that it is a sponsor of.

If you have time you could apply the logo to things like packaging and POS or even show how they would brand things like a halfpipe at an extreme sports festival or some kind of "chillout/socialising" tent at a cool music festival.

I know here in the uk that Redbull have a car that they drive to certain events and they have hot promotion girls handing out free drinks... might be worth showing how you would brand a vehicle too. Obviously the vehicle would be a bit different and not your run of the mill car heres a link to a shot of the redbull car for a bit of inspiration:

(also when i start to design anything, i usually write down a list of words or adjectives that first come to my head when i think of the company name or what its about) since, we dont have a company name quite yet, we can still brainstorm

my list for words that come to my head

-energy -action -sports -re-energize -better performance -stamina -faster -quicker -exciting -refreshing -fuel -batteries -electricity -allstar -top of the moutain -king -undefeated -best records -flash of light -sun -awake -alert -hyper -active -thrilling


those are some for a start...


any other suggestions? how could we come up with a name with some of those adjectives /phrases

In the US, Red Bull has the same promotions with the same Mini. Plus, we also have the Red Bull Xtreme Bicycle Riding (Freeride, etc.) teams. They do shows at Red Bull promotions.

yeah i think those competitors are probably about right. I just got back from the US and have never seen that vitamin water before thats some crazy lookin sh*t!

these are the first words that pop into my head:

energy - power - motion - react - rush - action - zip - zing - zest - intense - rapid - swift - dynamic - sharp - driven - vivid - start - spark - go juice - charge - boost - rise

coming up with a name from the adjectives sometimes needs to be brainstormed but sometimes it can just be the addjective. Its not totally right for this but "zing" could possibly be a contender...

lol... forget everything i said you should do a logo for a codom manufacturer, this could be genius!
