Am I the only one that looks at web 2.0 logos and see the major zeitgeist? This collection is funny, but I think one of the main reasons its become such a joke is because the web 2.0 businesses all copy each other, meaning they style itself preceeds the application of the business they're representing. I'd love to see the community design these logos as if they're in the 1920's or maybe if they existed during the Italian renaissance...
You're right. Its about web applications, overnight success, and LOTS of glossy texture. If those logos were ever rendered in 3D, they'd be too slippery to hold.

I don't think I get the joke. Isn't Web 2.0 just a buzz word for the more interactive use of the web than 5 years ago? How does that affect a logo graphic? Or is that the point, and this is just making fun of the trend to make logos all glossy looking?
I just read up on this because I was unaware.
Web 2.0 logos/graphics, use: large font, hatch lines, gloss, reflecting images, supermarket starbursts, gradients and maybe a few more things.
Also, the BMW looks like the emblem on the car and not much more than their logo.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm sure it will be useful. As for comment within a comment, do you think that's necessary? Sounds like a major thread hijack
Yep, I would pencil sketch the basic shape and then use a black fibre tip pen on top. Kerm's suggestion of scanning and live tracing the result is good too.
